Blocked Contact

Open the Messages app
Select the contact you have problem sending message
Tap on the Profile Picture

To unblock tap on the Unlock Caller

Enable SMS Access

Open Settings
Scroll down the page and tap on Apps
Scroll down the Apps page and tap on Messages
Scroll down the page and enable Send as Text Message if it is not enabled.
Incorrect Date and Time
If you iPhone is set to incorrect date and time then it may mess up with the app functionality. To fix:
Open Settings
Tap on General
Under General Page Scroll down and tap on Date and Time
Make sure Set Automatically is toggled ON
This will make your iPhone to operate on correct time zone, syncing properly with location servers.
Airplane Mode
