About 25 SEP 2022…
Since I started following this website (“RTLBA”) about 3 weeks ago, RTLBA always has the same 2-word solution that the New York Times (“NYT”) publishes as the solution the next day.
For 25 SEP 2022, RTLBA’s solution was:
AMBHIBIOUS-SCROD
but, when I checked the NYT the next morning, their word solution was:
APHRODISIAC-CRUMB
Personally, my answer was CUPBOARDS-SHIM.
So, given how RTLBA so often exactly predicts what the NYT’s solution is but did not on 25 SEP 2022, why there is a discrepancy or how RTLBA comes up with the NYT solution?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thanks for this website; I really appreciate it!

Just a quick correction…
=========
So, given how RTLBA so often exactly predicts what the NYT’s solution is but did not on 25 SEP 2022,
I have to wonder
why there is a discrepancy or how RTLBA comes up with the NYT solution?
July 20/23
Upholds and strain were also 2 words for letterbox solution today ….
Another one:
01 OCT 2022:
NYT: BRIGHTLY-YONDER
RTLBA: BLONDER-RIGHTLY
So, I am guessing that RTLBA is an independent algorithm for solving and that it coincidentally matches the NYT answer.
If we are able to solve in two, does it matter that we don’t get the same answers as the NYT puzzle creators?! One day I remember that their first word was ‘waterski,’ and the second word was ‘implicit.’ I, too, had gotten waterski but could not, for the life of me, see a word that I could connect with it. Instead, I came up with ‘skimp’ and ‘plasticware.’ Today, I got ‘devoured’ and ‘dishwater,’ My words work just as well as those of the NYT creators.
My solution was
VINES
SUBROGATE
Try to get it in two but if I don’t and the solution is some totally obscure word (like tubifexes or akimbo for eg.) I think why do I bother.
